From Inner Critic to Inner Kindness: Cultivating Self-Compassion

Many of us struggle to treat ourselves with the same kindness and compassion as we do others. Yet our ability to do so is a cornerstone of well-being and resilience. Over 4,000 research studies have demonstrated that self-compassion is strongly related to overall well-being and happiness, coping with life-challenges, lower levels of anxiety and depression, healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships. It is an inner resource that allows us to show up fully as ourselves and for ourselves in our lives. Best of all, self-compassion is a set of trainable skills.

During this course you will learn to:

  • Encourage and motivate yourself with kindness and compassion, rather than criticism and judgment

  • Increase your capacity to navigate difficult emotions with greater ease

  • Understand how self-compassion interacts with and down regulates our nervous system

  • Move from a cycle of self-criticism and suffering to one of self-kindness and well-being

  • Develop greater self-acceptance, confidence, and courage

  • Increase your sense of connection to self and others
